Religion wrecked ancient Eqypt and bankrupted the treasury. People should think about that in modern terms. Religion starts too many wars. Maybe we should just try to get along with our neighbors and not worry about the afterlife.

Well the obvious one is there being the first "mega" builders and laying down the science of building really big structures.
