1. I believe it's called "Nivea for Men" or something like that, it's the "deep cleaning" formula. For a shampoo that is not explicitly labeled as being anti-chlorine it does a really good job of getting the stuff out of your hair.

2. Technique videos online are almost impossible to find. Stuff on YouTube or other public video posting sites are probably just parodies of real instructions and won't teach you anything. Plus you really have to be in the water to learn how to swim, you can't really do it on land and just memorize all of the stuff you need to do since you really have to get a feel for the water first.

3. Diets are widely variable for many people. Different people and their bodies have different diet needs than the average person. Normally a pasta dinner is recommended the night before a meet and some sugar is recommended about an hour before the meet but only in small amounts. A Gatorade is also a good idea during a meet or during practice along with a banana which will heavily decrease the chance of getting cramps. After a meet it is advised that you eat whatever you feel like eating since your body is replacing what it has just lost so soda, sports drinks, energy drinks and other drinks are OK.

4. For butterfly (this is only what I've been told, I'm so ridiculously bad at fly) you have to keep your arms straight all the time. You should also keep your feet touching each other at all times and your arms should come out of the water parallel with your body and come around a full 180 degrees each so that they are parallel above your head. While going back into the water your arms should be streamline and you should bring up your arms in between kicks. Of course I can't remember all of these while I'm doing fly myself but eventually I think we'll both get the hang of it.

5. You've randomly asked the perfect person for team shirt slogan ideas.

A. Shake Your Thompson Taffy (it's an inside joke on our team)

B. Border Patrol! Haha, made you look! (another inside joke)

C. (Insert corny, politically correct, motivational sentence here)

D. Fun Size

E. Go In Hard, Come Out Wet

F. If practice makes perfect and no one's perfect, why practice?

G. "Don't Forget To Bring a Towel With You!" (from Tolwie from South Park)

Answers:

1. There aren't any really. All water, even tap water, contains chlorine. So you're rinsing chlorine from your hair with chlorine. Try a leave-in conditioner.

2. Your local library will have DVD's on swimming. You might be able to find some free ones here: http://www.expertvillage.com/index.htm

3. A well balanced diet - just as you would for anything else in life. Olympic swimmers eat almost anything but recommend a balanced diet. After practice and especially after meets, boost your blood sugar. Your coach can explain this.

4. You should have someone video tape you while you do the fly and then review it with your coach.

5. Have no idea! Sorry.

1. I like L'Oreal Swim Shampoo, cute & smells good!
2. Sorry, no idea!
3. I always load up on pasta the night before a meet, then eat a couple pretzels before my race.
4. I'm a breaststroker...sorry!
5. I've seen a few cute ones at meets & stuff:
-We lay back and let our breast fly free.
-Chlorine is my perfume!
-Backstroke, breaststroke...stroke of a genius! [From a Ludacris song I think.]
-4 months a year, 6 days a week, 3 hours a day, 1 team.

1. ultra swim
2. try you tube, but i really don't know
3. i don't know about after practice, but the night before a meet eat pasta, it is good, goes with anything, and is packed with complex carbs that will give you lots of energy the next day. or eat pasta the night before practice. any complex carbs are great for swimming
4. ask your coach. some suggestions i have are to simply practice making big open circles with your arms, this helps kind of, if you make too small circles and then try it in the water you won't go any where. too big and you will mess up your arms. so medium sized circles is best. you don't want to bring your arms over your head. but keep your arms slightly bent and make medium sized circles. also you have to time it just right( when you take breaths) if you take a breath to late your gonna mess up, to early and it sort of hurts. so take a breath right when your arms are coming out of the water, and then stick your head back into the water after you breathe.
5. eat, sleep, swim, but thats my leagues slogan. so try somthing like, were too hot to play a sport with clothes-and then your teams name under that. put that like on the back, top of the shirt. then at the bottom put your teams name. and then on the front, put your teams name and the top left of the shirt. and then find some random place to put your name.
good luck!! and i hope this helps!

I can only answer some questions
2) you can get technique videos if you have a lock at the site
swimwiththestars. com
If the site doesn't work go to Michael Phelps personal site, an you will get to many different sites
3) You should eat porige for breakfast and many bananas. That always helps
4) you will find the answer on the DVD 'PERSONAL BEST BUTTERFLY' from Michael Phelps by otragon

You don't really need any particular shampoo just get a shampoo AND conditioner. For your butterfly make sure you are taking your breaths on the insweep for your stroke.

1. Not too many great ones...just get a good shampoo and conditioner

2. www.swiminfo.com

3. Good mix of protein and carbs, steak and pasta, fruit, yogurt, and get in the habit of eating something IMMEDIATELY after workout...like a banana or protein shake.

4. Thats a question for your coach, I'm going to guess the timing of your stroke.

5. "We bust ours so we can kick yours..."
