I have a Thinkpad T22 with XP Pro installed. I cannot get my desktop to extend to my television. Have tried different resolutions, updated drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling tv. My computer seems to pick up on the fact that it is connected to another monitor but tv is still black, have even tried different adapters thinking outdated port might have been the problem. I have googled the subject a lot and heard from more than one source that I should have an option for tv out on this but you only have this option if windows me is installed. Any suggestions?

Not a stupid question (Fn+F7) - I had a Toshiba before this one and am still learning about my Thinkpad. I screwed around with the damn thing half the night last night and still cannot watch my movies on the tv. I think the biggest prob is the fact that my Thinkpad is older and many parts are outdated so I have had to invest in a few converters/adapters for different parts. The s video on my thinkpad is different than the one on my tv - only a difference in the number of pins, the thinkpad's have more. My s video cable I was using for my toshiba still actually fits very well but still produces no pic on tv. I then bought an adapter so I could run from my s video to the regular hook ups on my tv, you know the red, yellow and white cords. I know I have hooked them up properly but still, no fix. I am at a loss!

Really all you should have to do is connect the laptop to the television, set the television to display whatever input you plugged the computer into and then hold the "Fn" button in the lower left of the keyboard and press the "F7" key, or whatever key has the little monitor looking icon printed on the key.

If not, it would be under display properties in the control panel, then go to settings and "extend my desktop to this monitor"

This may sound like a stupid question, but did you hit the Fn+F7 keys to switch CRT display modes?
