Nextel/Boost Help...?

I have a nextel phone, and for my birthday, i was planning on getting a boost i830, and getting it unlocked, so i can use it for my nextel.....ect.

But, if i were to do this, would i still be able to buy ringtones, and text?

I NEED TEXTING!! I text over 650messeges a day

Nextel (or any other carrier) will not guarantee data/txt on unlocked phones. They can only guarantee voice service. It MIGHT, but if it doesn't they won't fix it.
