definately adalius thomas. it really can't be a receiver because brady distributes the ball so equally. even if he had a steve smith on his team he would get equal receptions as reche caldwell. their defense was already strong, and now adalius thomas will help them dominate.

statistics wise it could be Donte Stallworth but the biggest impact will be Adalius Thomas as he will provide that "joker" element that Bill Belichick loves. He will cause QBs confusing as they become indecisive at the line of scrimmage, offensive linemen will confuse blocking schemes and that will allow other Patriots to step up and make plays. Thomas may line up anywhere in the hybrid 3-4 4-3 and he can end up anywhere.

Suprisingly enough, WR Wes Welker. The kicker here is that not only is he a good 3rd wide receiver, but he's an fairly decent kick returner. He averaged a little over 23 yards a return for 1064 yards last season. And with Brady instead of Culpepper/Harrington throwing to him, he's more apt to put up better receiving stats with the Patriots.

And did I mention he even KICKED in a game with Miami back in 2004. He hit a 29 yard FG and kicked a PAT as well. You're certainly getting your money's worth with him and he's young with just enough experience to make an impact out of the gate. If he's well utilized (which he almost certainly will be by Belichick), he could make a huge impact for the Patriots.

While most will jump out with Thomas, another player will actually be more versatile in Belichick scheme. Wes Welker is a utility player that is very similar to Troy Brown. Welker has a greater range of talents on the field and can help to influence the pace of the game. Welker is officially a WR, but can also be classified as a KR and PR. Belichick could also shift Welker into a defensive scheme a la Brown.

Welker will give Belichick another mulitfaceted utility player that will boost the capabilities of whichever unit he is working with.

Adalius Thomas is an absolute monster of a player. The guy does it all. He's still young enough to make a difference and if he's used right, he should have a great year.

Welker and Brady will be shorter yardage receivers than Stallworth...So, it's between Stallworth and Thomas...Both are huge additions, because they needed a #1 receiver and help on defense...

Thomas. The Wrs are nice, but the WRs did not give up 38 points to Indy.
