I know this is really not the place to ask questions like this..but I need some help..anyways here goes..I dont really consider myself a "happy person" but I'm not depressed either..but for a while now I imagine myself getting hurt(car wreck, being shot..you get the picture) and I often have repeating dreams of getting hurt..and for some reason it comforts me..I know its really strange..but does anyone have a clue to why have this "problem"?

You could be suffering a mild form of depression or anxiety. You sound like you are reaching out for help but maybe you do not know how to.

Being comforted at the thought of being hurt is a worry, have you given up on something or lost your drive? These dreams you are having could symbolise the end of something.

Maybe it is time to change, think about why you are not happy and change your life, being positive brings you happiness. Even if you say you are not a "happy" type of person, make yourself smile on the inside, then a smile will come to the outside.

If you need professional help ring a help line, they have counsellors available to chat with,

Good Luck

Your brain unless really obssesd, is condiseringa ll the possible scenarios in a given situation, I guess the important thing is that you learn in your dreams how to successfully resolve or survive the crisis, you can "change" or "will" your dreams to change, you just have to remember that. Sort of like learning to fly when you have dreams about falling. That's the general answer, if you have something going on in your head, like riding with someone who drinks, or trying to race and pass in the passing zone, or needing to fix the brakes on your car, you won't rest easy until you correct what your conscience knows is a risky situation.

Pay attention to the movies you have been watching and the books you read, they really do affect us. If they relate to some of your imaginings and your dreams, change them to comedies, biographies etc, something light, that's all I can think of.

i guess pretty bad things must be happening to u, if u think of stuff like that! so i guess u think about stuff like that to rid yourself of the real world...u may not want to feel the real pain life brings and instead escape to something more extreme. my guess is that u r having some emotional problems with friends, family, or somthing of the like...mabe ur not satisfied with life and just want to be over with it...no offense, but sometimes, this type of thinking...leads to suicide...just be careful...think about what these types of pains would do to u...ask yourself, do u really want to die? if not, what can i do to be happier? just think things through...

seems like you need to talk with someone quick because if the only time you feel comfort is thinking of your own demise is very troublesome. not a good scenario .
