I washer has had it. The spin cycle doesn't work... Does anyone in California or in San Diego County knows how I can get rid of it without paying an arm and a leg just to have it picked up dumped?

If you replace it with a new one, say from Lowes, and have it delivered, then they will haul your old one away at no cost. I would also check to see if your town does a clean up. My town does a clean up once a month, and you can put anything by the roadside and they will dispose of it at no charge. If not, find a junk yard that uses metal or something and see if they'll let you dump it so they can use the scrap metal off of it. Hope this helps!

Check with your local waste removal company. They should be able to advise you where you can take it or have it picked up. Also, you might look in the "recycling" section of your yellow pages and call scrap metal collectors as another possiblity. You may also try calling appliance repair shops; some take them in to repair and resell for costs, or to strip down for parts for other machines.

When I replaced my old washer, Home Depot where I bought my new one, their delivery people delivered mine, hooked it up for me and took and disposed of my old one. Most places that you buy new ones from say Sears for example, their delivery dept will also cart off your old one for you at no extra charge.

If you plan on buying a new one, the retailer can haul it off fairly cheap - and crush it for recycling for you.

Peace.
