yep. all the time. my blue heeler puppy loves it. but my cat looks at me like i'm retarded and like she's doing me a favor to condescend to listen to me. but thats why we like cats isn't it?

I talk to them in a "happy voice", but I don't "baby talk". I have dogs, and they find a higher pitched voice to be interesting and it gets their attention.
(*lol*) I also sing to them. I'm pretty sure that's when they look down on me.

Yes I talk to my pets but I don't expect them to understand me or show me any signs of how they feel about it. Actually... I think they don't really care what I'm saying most of the time.

I talk to my Chihuahua in all kinds of voices and does he look down on me?? Only if he's standing on my chest (which is what he does to wake me up in the morning!)

yes I do. Helps the dogs understand that the pet rats aren't something to catch and eat.
Do they look down on me for it? Nope - they seem to love it - all of them.

My furry family members EXPECT me to talk to them in a soft sweet voice! They don't look down on me for that, they just realize they own me....

I talk to my cat in a normal voice and she answers back...
She can say mama and out and no. otherwise it is just meowing.
