The melt slowly in your mouth but if it was more slowly I would worry about it being digested or not.

I've never held them in my hands long enough for them to melt. I don't think they melt in my mouth either, cause I chew and swallow them.

depends on how sweaty your palms are, the sugar coating requires moisture to begin disolving. So it would melt in your hands if they are sweaty or wet.
