Can inventors you get make items or can u have to manually do it yourself?

I know u can get inventors but wat really happens with them. Do they make their own items when set to do wat ever or do they just sit there until u want to go to a workshop and work with them. Do u get money if you invent something or no?

Most inventors are hobbyists that find and make sommething to make their life easier. If they do this individually then the invention is their property. If you invent something whilst working for someone else AND it is part of your work then the invention belongs to the firm.

Few inventions get patented, marketed and make money, The rest just lie in the patents office, never to be seen again
