I have noticed that the past few monday nights Edge was supposed to compete but has come up with reasons why. Is he hurt or something? Thanks

That is just how a good heel works. They are always trying to get somebody else to fight their battles for them. Look at HHH in the days of Evolution, or Ted DiBiase as the Million Dollar Man.
