Sometimes it helps to draw a picture or imagine a visual.

1, Imagine three stacks of jerseys, one stack of each color. Each stack could have three different numbers in that color. So three stacks times three jerseys each = ?
_ _ _
_ _ _
_ _ _

2. There are not too many different combinations of only four sports taken two at a time, so you can write them all down.
V + B V + G V + S
B + G B + S (not B + V cuz that's the same as V + B)
G + S (not G + V or G + B; you've already got them)
And that's all, cuz S has already been paired with the other 3)
So now, just count 'em.

3. Same process as 2. Write down all the possible combos.

4 is different because 12 is not the same as 21.

5. Here the order matters, as it does in number 4. If Britney is first, Cristina could be second or third. Same for Jessica. So you have:
BCJ, BJC
CJB, CBJ
JCB, JBC
Are there any other possibilities?

there are a couple of ways to solve these problems. take the first one you can simply multiply 3X3(3 colorsx 3 numbers) to get nine which will be the answer or you can write it out
blue red white
/ I \ / I \ / I \
9 19 24 9 19 24 9 19 24
these are all the possible combonations so you can just count across and get nine.

the next problem can be solved the same way 4x2= 6- this is the answer
volleyball + basketball
volleyball + golf
volleyball + softball
basketball + golf
basketball + softball
golf + softball

the next one is also similar except you have 3 choices so it would be 2(sandwiches)X 3(drinks)X 2(dessert)= 12
you could also make a diagram if you want a visual

hope this helped, good luck

Homework is a soreness in the ***, although this is worth it and the implications of no longer doing it are low grades, low self-worth, hating college, indignant mothers and dads, and awkwardness around instructors. the final element to do is do exactly the homework. do no longer attempt to think of, "I shouldn't..." or doubt your self - do exactly it! you ought to be smart approximately it, do the homework this is maximum needed first, leave the little issues for final, take familiar breaks, no ingesting at the same time as working as this is distracting, NO television till you're thoroughly completed.
