Looking for a reference site that lists, artists, painters, sculptors, potters,etc.several reference sites OK

It would help if you gave some idea why. There a sites that only name artists and indicate some of their credits, like the one I "maintain" for furnace glass blowers and there are ones that give biography and sales history. There are sites only for better known artists and others for those of particular areas. clues would be nice.
