I try to avoid sweeteners. I use honey or sugar, and occasionally Splenda. I'm not much on substitutes as they always end up causing some problem even when they say it's safe.

Sometimes I use Splenda but I dunno if I trust it. Sugar is natural and that "sugar substitute" stuff hasn't been around very long...it probably causes cancer, but I guess everything causes cancer so I'm not too concerned.

If I sweeten at all I use Splenda in recipes. In tea & coffee, I drink it black and unsweetened.
