I have always had and used a Windows based machine and for my next upgrade am considering an Apple.

Looking over the specs for the Mac Mini I don't see any mention of a USB port, are the USB ports standard on Apples or do they not even use them?

Thanks for your help.

Also if you have changed from Windows based to Apple based would love to hear your thoughts on it!

There are 4 ports on the back of the new minis. See this address. If you want to maintain some of your PC programs, purchase the software titled "parallels". It will allow you to toggle between Mac bliss and Windows frustration with out restarting. If you are a student there are discounts available through Mac.

Yes,but only two. If you are like me i have many items that use USB ports, but my old laptop only had two ports, so that was my problem. Buying a USB Hub didn't really help. Just so you know all new computers now a days have atleast 1 or 2 USB ports. Since many people use USB more than the old Parallel or Serial Ports.

Being a student ive used Macs because there the only thing that the schools ever had. They have usb ports. Usually located on the side or back. =)

P.S. I wouldn't recommend apple based products because of there not so high FSB speed. the only excepteion is Mac Pro as you can see on the apple website. Plus it features a new CPU the "quad core".

Yes, Macs use USB ports just like PCs - that's where you plug in printers and keyboards. On the specs, it's the port with the little tri-tip looking symbol, listed under 'Peripheral connections': "Four USB 2.0 ports (up to 480 Mbps).

definitely! apples do have USB ports. i have made the PC-Mac transition before and it wasn't that bad. took me a while to get used to the fact that a mac had no right button, or left button...and just one big thing on the mouse. anyways, macs and pcs are both really good, (:
