I'm just over 35wks pregnant and my baby is engaged and sex is becoming near impossible. I mean there is the discomfort of having to becareful of "the bump" and the fact that alot of positions just can't be done these days! LOL. Whilst engaging in intercourse last night i was REALLY uncomfortable and it just wasn't working. The pressure on my pelvic bones (from baby) and the inability to find a position even remotely comfortable or that even worked was frustrating. When he entered me it wasn't pleasurable like usual - it was just.. uncomfortable.

Is this just the way things are in late pregnancy? I still have a sex drive but having to figure out the logistics makes it seem like more hassle than its worth! LOL

Oh I hear ya! I had a really extreme sex drive late in pregnancy and logistically it doesn't work very well. You just have to tell your husband to understand, move around until it is.. if ever.. comfortable. You may have to find other.. ways.. to satisfy that appetite.

It's uncomfortable, but if you want to bring on labour many women try sex so they just put up with it. Being on top is best, you are in control and your bump is out of the way.

when you have the head of a baby engaged in the pelvis, it is really difficult to shove anything else in there (there is only a few inches of space left)...why don't you just have your partner massage your clitoris and maybe insert a finger ot two...waht about a battery operated device?also, remember that semen has an enzyme that can accelerate dilation and effacement...and intercourse has been used to accelerate stalled labour...
good luck and have fun

If it does become too uncomfortable to have vaginal sex during this time in the pregnancy, perhaps you and your partner would like to try some alternatives (eg, mutual masturbation)

LOL -- yep its normal, short of you picking the position and him doing exactly what you suggest, maybe its feasable to expand to other options- battery toys, mutual masterbation, whatever floats your boat and isn't uncomfortable ; ) Good Luck

Excellent positions for keeping belly out of the way...woman on top, side lying (spooning), from behind, and woman sitting on mans lap (facing away).

If having sex is uncomfortable, then don't do it. Cuddling with you partner can be just as rewarding.

You might have better luck with manual stimulation - avoid penetration.

Remember that orgasms can start labor, so have your bags packed!
