No.. screen passes are used to keep the junk off the field people throw down after the team does a horrible play...

Bugs are kept off the field with giant fly swatters attatched to the cameras

you see, and this is straight from the source, screen passes are made so that the defense is all like "omg i can see the guy behind the screen but whenever i try to cross the screen i just cant do it" so then the rb (or whoever got the screen pass) says "its a riddle u hav to figure out the only one way to get by this screen" and while their all standing there figuring out the "riddle" the rb runs the other way and scores. thats why its called a screen pass but i would call it a riddle pass because the screen plays a minor role compared to the mental warfare involved in this play...

screen passes are used for yardage or possibly touchdowns. If bugs go on the field then John Madden uses his frog tounge to eat them.

The screen pass is a drug test. It's such a easy play if you dont make it and mess up, you have to be on drugs. The screen pass is a drug test

Yup, it is to keep the bugs out of the players view of the ball when he is going to catch it. :)
