i was listening to that song and i understood the lyrics for the most part but towards the end my friend said something about the song that confused me so if anyone could explain the lyrics to that song we would really appreciate it.

i don't think my answer is going to be much help, but i love the
band! they're really good. i guess lyrics can be hard to
interpret because they always mean something different to
the person listening. it's how it relates to you. but for me, i say
it's about a guy that gets left so there's this girl trying to get
back with him but he's fed up, so he leaves her. he thinks that
he's waisting time. and believes it's better for them. "i love
you, however you bring me down".
