go to youtube, and type in: michigan move
the first video shows you how to do it, and gives instructions as well... do more research on "michigan move" to find more stuff.

If you mean to lay the puck on your stick and shoot like that, what you have to do is apply pressure to one side of the puck, either with your backhand, which is how it's often done at early levels, or at higher levels, as Mike Legg (UMich hockey player) did, by applying pressure to one side of the puck on the forehand, and then scooping the puck up in one fluid motion. You must have strong forearms to do it on the forehand.

Another easier variation on this move, which I favor in an actual game (not really, I'd probably never do this, or the other move in a real game) situation, is to draw the puck out to the side, then quickly in, and flip the puck softly into the air, from where you can do whatever you want with it, provided you have the hand-eye coordination to do so.

Bear in mind that neither of these moves are practical in a real game, and if you do attempt to perform these, you'll likely have your head taken off with a solid check.

You'd have to ask Sidney Crosby...I've seen him do it in warmups....
