i had 10 in all same family 2 mollies 4 tetras 4 redeyes all from wal-mart should i try and find a better fish store?

The best store would be an aquarium shop. The next best store would probably be a pet store in general like Petsmart (I would not recommend Petco). The only thing I bought at WalMart was my stand. That's it. Otherwise I do all my shopping at Petsmart (until I can find an aquarium shop I like).

While there is no way to know for sure the deaths were related to wheree you shop, I would still suggest you find a fish store.... not a better fish store, but a fish store instead of a big box that happens to cram fish between the lawn tools and the feminine products or some such. Find a nice small independant fish shop, where the owner is not behind the counter but is elbow deep in a tank. That's the kind of place you want to shop. Another prime indicator, look for fish with ick, every store has some... is the tank marked not for sale? If so you have found at least a decent shop.

Fish have "personalities" too. Even though most fish from X species behave this way, you may end up with a fish that is different from the others of it's kind (more or less aggressive for example). It has nothing to do with where you shop (though I personally would not buy a fish from wal-mart), it's just in the nature of fish.
