I know labor will be painful and not easy but if so many experience this, then should it be something to get worried about?

No you shouldn't worry because you forget all about everything as soon as the doctor hands you the baby!

I'm not going to lie the pain is great, but labor is also the most wonderful experience you are ever going to go through. And after your baby is born the pain of birth is a distant memory. I know that I was in much pain but it was only for the moment and I really don't think about it, I only really remember when I first heard my babies cry for the first time and when I saw my children for the first time. So don't worry about it you will get through it.

Don't worry about it. It will seem scary but the best advice someone gave me was not to tense up with contractions. Relax all of you body you can. Try to stay calm. I had two very different labor experiences. With my first I fought, screamed, and just tried as hard as I could to get it over with. With my second I had a focus point. I brought in a teddy bear and put it on the other side of the room. I didn't talk to anybody and when I tried to relax everything during contractions, it wasn't so bad. There is always the thought of the epidural. I didn't have one with either. It is something people should not rule out. I wish you good luck and just try to remember to relax.

No, it's nothing to worry about. I had my children natural and it is painful, but you forget all about after you see the baby.

If it was too painful, do you think anyone would have more than one child? My first one was easier because I really didn't know what to expect. I'd heard so many horror stories and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought.

I watched my grandaughter being born and her mother had a spinal block. She was taking a nap 15 minutes before she was born. She felt nothing.

I don't plan on having any more children, but if I did, I would still do it natural. I had my tonsils out at 21 years old, and I swear that was worse than having a baby. I'd have a baby again before I'd have my tonsils taken out.

Don't worry, everything will be fine.

I think worrying about it just makes it worse, especially for your first time. Yes it is painful but no one can really tell you how bad it will be for you because everyone pain tolerance is different. My girlfriend had all three of her kids naturally (no drugs!) because she is deathly afraid of the epidural needle. For her it was better to endure the labor pain than the needle pain. My first was not too bad but I did things like moderate exercises and drank childbirth teas and calming techniques. It does not work for everyone but it did for me. Don't over think it, keep calm and enjoy your pregnancy. Yes complications can arise, but if you try to stay moderately calm you will have a better head to deal with those issues. I found that for both of mine once the pushing starts everything starts going so I was so fast and I was focused on pushing that the pain is not the was not the major issue. Hopefully all will work out for you, I wish you well, and just think about the beautiful baby you will have because of it all!

try not to worry....i know its easier said than done, but I have never been bothered about going through tons of pain....even after 4 pregnancies....I only ever looked forward to the birth of my children, it gives you something to focus on when in labour and makes all of the pain seem worthwhile. If you listened to every horror story about labour, then a lot of women would be too petrified to ever get pregnant in the first place. I simply say, that try and enjoy your labour in some way, use mind over matter with the pain....and some gas and air ....lol...and if it becomes too much, then just visualize that at the end of this, you will have your tiny child in your arms and the pain will be forgotton, and in place of the pain will bucket loads of love.
Hope this helps x

You should always have a little worry whenever you are about to undergo surgery. It wouldn't be normal if you didn't at least think about it. But as scary as it seems, it only lasts one day and then you quickly forget the pain as soon as you see your baby. Honestly!! I'm not just saying that. To be honest, I was scared out of my mind when I had my son. It's normal to worry. But don't let it overwhelm your thoughts. Think about whether you have the hospital bag, the car seat, your insurance card, etc. Keep yourself busy and then you won't have time to think about the labor.

I think worrying about labor is normal.

I went threw 2 pregnancy. Both times I did not worry about the pain till I was having contractions. If I spent all my time worrying i wouldn't have time or the concentration to do other things.

The average baby's head is 18 inches around. Think about that.

KIDDING-well, that's true, but it's not as bad as people think it is. Stress will make it more painful-just relax. The baby isn't crying, pooping, coloring on walls, falling down, or vomiting yet.

Honey, this is the easy part. Don't let your apprehension about the birth ruin it for you. Best of luck.
