Oct is IMHO the best time of the year to go. I went a few years ago in Oct, including Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. That is such a blast and the crowds are limited so you can easily get on the rides. Hope you will be there then.

I was down there for for a total of 2 weeks and I think it rained once for a few hours. And the weather was warm not hot, and almost no humidity. I didn't know Florida could be so perfect. And there was only one day the crowds were bad. Most of the time it was a joy! And the rooms were cheaper too.

Check on the waterpark though...the disney one we wanted to go to was closed for repairs so we skipped it. But yes it was warm enough, just not open. Also keep in mind the parks close early most nights, which would have been a problem if we weren't there for so long that trip. A few attractions were closed but the only one we really missed was the water park. But it was the best weather/crowd situation this Disneyholic has ever had! Have a blast!

ETA...came back to add a suggestion that I see someone else sort of addressed lol. But my suggestion is different. I was going to say if you can't get priority seating, try to book at the restaurant slightly off peak. You can almost always get in that way, especially in the slower months.

They usually have one of the waterparks closed for refurbishment. It depends when you are going in October. We went a couple of years in October thinking that most kids would be in school and it wouldn't be crowded. We were surprised to find out that many schools have a Fall break. So it might be a little more crowded then you might expect but it is most certainly not the high season. You will have a wonderful time.

Here are a few words of advise:
1. Make your priority seating reservations as soon as possible. Most of the restaurants accept them 180 days from the first day of your vacation. You are aloud to start calling at 7:00 am. Start dialing at 6:58 am and keep hitting redial until you are through. You might even want to call ahead of time and write down the number sequence that you have to punch in. You can get through to a real person faster that way. For instance Cinderella’s Castle usually books up by 7:05am. Call (407) WDW-DINE and ask them the exact date that you can call.
2. If you want to do Fantasmic ask them about the Dinner and a Show option. Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time between the reservation and the show. I think that they will let you have dinner around 2 and still give you priority seating at Fantasmic in the evening.
3. Always plan your afternoon reservations at one of the other parks.
4. The Hoop – De – Doo and the Luau (at the Polynesian) are great evening shows. Your ticket covers an all you can eat meal at your table (not a buffet) and all you can drink Beer, Wine and soft drinks. I believe that you can call up to 2 years in advance. Call ASAP for the best table.

Have Fun!!!!

October is a GREAT time to go. I was just there this past Oct, and would have to say it is the BEST time to go. I can say that I honesty have been to Disney just about every month there is, and Oct has been my best experince weather and park wise, it used to be september but everyone caught on to that! There weather was GREAT when I was there. THe parks were not crazy busy, they weren't empty because of FOOD AND WINE and Mickeys NOT SO SCARY Halloween party, but better than say like june. I wore shorts and tank tops everyday and had a great time. We sat by the pool almost every afternoon, it was great!! I will be there this April(next month) and know its going to be way more busy then my last trip 6 months ago OCT!! I have been traveling to disney for the past 15 years and have experienced the parks at every type of crazy., so oct really is a good time to go! I will be there this OCT as well (its a tradition that we go in the fall!) and hope its as great as last october!

Have fun!

October isn't a bad time to visit - the crowds are moderate and the weather is generally still warm. I've been there several times in October, and it has always been warm enough for the water parks.

At anytime that you go, disney will have crowds. The trick it so work your way from the back inward, and fast pass the big attractions. October wont be too bad, its not a "peak" month

Even if the temperature outside is cooler, the water at all disney locations is suppose to be heated to 82degrees so you could go to a water park if they are open. Usually rides and attractions are being cleaned, fixed, repainted, etc during the time of year you are visiting but you can normally get that info in advance at disney.com (as to which attractions won't be available to you).
The weather should be great, even though it is hurricane season

That relies upon on what you're acclimated to. on the top of wintry climate, sixty one Fahrenheit feels heat and persons run around laying off clothing and rejoicing. on the top of summer season, sixty one Fahrenheit "feels" chilly and persons rush for extra layers. Direct sunshine and wind additionally play a element. sunlight on your epidermis would experience heat for a at the same time as yet wind can take your physique's warmth whether that's 5 stages or extra cooler than your physique's temperature. Granted, the improved the wind, the extra warmth it takes away. additionally, the extra effective the version between the wind and your physique, the faster the warmth is taken away. the perspective of warmth leaving the physique is what makes us experience "chilly."

Empty and warm. Nice choice. But some rides are being refurbished out of the high season.
