I'm a sophomore this year and I took World History and Chemistry. I took two practice tests (w/out any studying) and I got a 400 on the World History, and a 450 on the Chemistry. Those definitely aren't the scores I was hoping for.

If any of you have taken either test, how do you recommend I study?
Or do you think I should just take different ones next year?
Thanks

In order to improve your scores, you need lots of practice, but you also need to learn the stuff first. So to do that, you need to get specific SAT II's books on those subjects. I suggest using Barron's; they are usually harder than the real thing, so when you get to the real thing, you'll feel it's so easy. Just don't get Kaplan; they don't help that much.

The books have several chapters in them that will cover everything that you'll need to know for the test. So just use those books and make sure you do the practice tests at the end to see how much you've improved each time. Also, it helps if you're taking AP classes in those subjects, so if your school offers Chem and World History AP, take them next year.
I might take those SAT II's myself, so wishing you the best of luck!
