This is someone I know.
When she is at home, all she does for her free time is watch QVC or Home Shopping Network.
And everyday she has the UPS man deliver another package of crap she bought off of there.
Anybody know anybody else like this?
what would you think is wrong with her?

i know from fact that this can become very addictive as my EX wife used to do this all the time dont get me wrong some of the stuff she bought was great and half the time it was crap
i just think she has got stuck in a rut and its become the norm thing to do
why dont you buy her a gym membership it will cost you less in the long run unless you have a massive bamk acc

She's lonely and bored and he only pleasure she gets from life is the rush of waiting for a new package. I'm guessing she doesn't use half the stuff she gets right? Why don't you take her somewhere where she can meet people of a similar age and start a hobby?

Well obviously she can afford that lifestyle so I wouldn't say anything about it. If she wants to live her life that way and is truly happy then she should be allowed to without people passing judgment on her. If she was 20 that would be a different issue but she's not so maybe she has already worked hard and retired early and should be left to enjoy her life how she wants to.

I would think she's lonely, and that you're a package of crap for thinking something must be wrong with her (is this your mother?)! If you know this person, maybe you could do something kind for her to help get her out of the house.

Why do you assume she doesn't have a job??? That's just moronic - it was never said she doesn't have a job - it was said she watches home shopping during her FREE TIME.
As for why she does it- could be she has a shopping addiction, she could be lonely and this is the only way she gets mail, she could be bored. - or all of the above.

Sounds like the lady is addicted to shopping network. If she has the money and is not your wife, probably nothing you can do except invite her out during the day or night to do something else.
