Building A New Computer

Step 1 Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600 (4MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,1066 FSB) Always remember that Intel is better than the rest of CPU available today. Also note that faster the CPU, faster your PC will run.

Step 2 .....2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 2 DIMMs. Note that RAM allows your computer do more things faster.

Step 3... 500GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache... Note that the bigger your hard drive is, the more it can store Data.

Step 4... Dual Drives: 48x Combo + 16x DVD+/-RW w/ dbl layer write capable... The drivers read and burn anything.

Step 5... 20 inch UltraSharp™ 2007WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel... The bigger the screen, the more enjoyable it is to play games and do video editing.

Step 6... 256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS... Note that a GPU ( Graphic Card is VERY important to your PC.

O/S XP Pro

Hope I could help!

Case with fans, power supply, MoBo & processor, RAM, Hard drives, optical drives. If you want a gaming machine, get a graphics card & sound card instead of what comes on the MoBo. Monitor, mouse, keyboard and you have enough to hack with. How much and how good of each item will depend on your budget and how you plan to use it. Oh Yeah, you will need your OS. I would stick with XP for now.

Newegg is fine but you may want to check out
http://microcenter.com

check the store locations
http://microcenter.com/at_the_stores/index.html
they may have a store that you can drive to and ask questions if you have any.
