No I dont think they count them at all...it's all about ratings and they want to create drama and keep people watching. Just look at Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks...Daughtry had the number one Cd and no one is buying the "winners" CD

I think that all the votes that come in by phone are computerized, and so that totals up the tally for them. I'm sure there are computer experts who know how to do that for them. Very easy to do.

i think that when you call them they look at like an answering machine type thing and counts it but i also have thought that maybe they just choose and kick people off
