94 pthfndr stalls every now n then but seems to be progressing i need to know y?

i bought it then breifly after the idle drops then raises to normal.now it stalls and seems to be more often as time passes and now i want to fix it but i dont want to buy the wrong thing and continue wasting money on the wrong things can anyone give me some help?

If the vehicle immediately restarts, you may have a fuel problem. If you have to wait awhile before it will restart then you more than likely have an ignition problem. Check for spark if it does the latter.
