can I use a regular cardboard box by spraying it with something or do I need to find whatever material I need to make one.

If you're worried about it being acid free, you can spray it with an archival mist (available at most stores that sell scrapbooking supplies), otherwise, you can use whatever kind of box you want.

If you're talking about a box to keep special things in, I'd say you can use whatever you like.

Sure, decorate a shoebox if that's what you prefer.

to make it last i would build it using a hard wood. go to menards or home depot to get the matierial
