see a doctor for a customized exercise plan. they can help you design a workout so you keep just enough to nurse the baby.

Right after pregnancy? I'd wait a couple weeks to start exercisiing so your body has some time to heal. You don't want to strain yourself. After a couple weeks, just start a reasonable diet (remember if you're breastfeeding you need to eat an extra 200-300 calories a day so dont starve yourself). Don't eat fatty foods or "empty calorie" foods like chips. Eat things with plenty of nutrients like apples and veggies. Then slowly work yourself into an exercise regimen. Walking is a good one that won't put too much strain on your body. Try to get as much rest as you can. It's going to be hard to sleep with a new baby but getting a good amount of rest is good for your body. Breastfeeding will help you lose weight quicker also.

Are you planning to nurse? It helps lose the weight.

You really should wait at least 4 weeks before exercising, ideally 6 weeks. There are work out tapes dedicated to losing weight after baby. Denise Austin makes a great one.

You may be surprised, though. The weight seems to somewhat just melt off sometimes after delivery. Just eat right and I'm sure it'll be okay.
