Which team will win the cup this year. I'm going with SJ Sharks!

San Jose Sharks.
They have a solid team with one of the best powerplays and one of the best 1-2 punch players in Marleau and Thornton. They have 2 starting goaltenders in Nabby and Vesa. They have depth, youth and size. They upgraded their defense by adding experience and leadership with Craig Rivet. They also added another awesome winger in Bill Guerin to add to their arsenal of attacks! They are on a small winning streak right now with Nabokov just scorching hot, and they will put it all together and make a run for the Stanley Cup.

No team that goes like 4 games without scoring a goal (which the Sharks did a few weeks back) is a good bet for the cup. I don't care how good their goal tending is, if they pull a stunt like that, they aren't going to have a chance. The best bet is the Red Wings. The Sabres and Ducks are falling off at the wrong time of year and I don't want to pick New Jersey because I hate them.

Anaheim Ducks
1) they broke a new record this year
2) they have superstars like Teammu Selanne, Ilya Bryzgalov, Jean-Sebastine giguere, and Chris Pronger
3) 2003-04 playoffs ducks swept #1 Detroit and #2 Dallas
5) Giguere got the conn smythe for the losing team in those playoffs, one of only 4/5 goaltenders in NHL history to do so.
