So, I have measured myself and found out my "bra size" and its the bra size I have been currently wearing. But all of the fitting websites say that the center of the bra should be touching my breastbone. I have not had this happen since I was much younger and much smaller. (I have been somewhat "gifted" in the chest department).
And unfortunately I am unable to go to a store and get fitted because the country I live in does not have women of my size so I have to special order from the internet. A friend of mine told me that because of how big my chest is that I shouldn't expect the center of the bra to touch and I should just go with the measured size.

So, busty women, let me know. . . is it possible to get a bra that fits and is supportive and have the center touch? or should I just give up and go with the measured size? (and yes, I have measured many times and am quite sure that I am not doing it wrong).

I went through the same thing, but fortunately, I was able to go get measured. I would try to go up in the band size and see how that works. That's what my problem was.

For the best support the center really should be on the breastbone. You'll be amazed by the difference it makes! It's not a granny bra thing. Even the cutest, skimpiest ones should touch the breastbone. If it doesn't, it does not fit.

Certain brands may work out better for you as well. I have one that is Felini, and it's great. The ever popular Victoria's Secret does not fit me right, the cups always seem to be smaller, and they don't go any higher than my normal size, so it just doesn't work out!

It really depends on the type of bra you are wearing. There are probably some bras that will touch your breastbone, but I'd imagine that these are the big, "granny-style" bras that pretty much cover everything. As long as the bras you are wearing fit well and are giving you the support you need, you are probably fine.

I'm busty and have many friends who are much bustier than I am and we all make sure that our bras touch the breatbone. If it doesn't, the weight isn't being distributed evenly and can cause back problems in the future. You want make sure that it fits below so that you're getting full support from underneath the entire breast. This will also help so that the straps don't dig into your shoulders.

I am a busty woman as well. I have NEVER had the center of any of my bras touch my skin. Don't worry abou this. Just make sure that the cup size is right and the straps arne't digging into your shoulders.

Look no matter what, measuring for a bra is a 2 person job. Find a lady to help, then order.

Try going to Victoria's Secret or Gap Body or a good department store and have them measure you there!
