If So, ....What is this called and what causes this?..... Having slight cramps to where a person would have to take Aleve or Tylenol for pain, but there is no blood, only a brown discharge of some kind. What could all this be?

i had menstrual cramps when I thought it was my period so I took advil and there was a very little bit of blood and it came to be that I was pregnant..(now 28 weeks). So, yes you can get cramps and that is a sign of pregnancy. It didn't last long though only a few days like a regular period.

If you are concerned though you should contact your physician. Good Luck to you

In my early stages of pregnancy I experienced period like cramps. I was a bit worried and went to the doctors. She said it is normal as long as the pains are not WORSE then your usual period cramps. Also there shouldn't be any bleeding or spotting. The cramps went away after 6 - 7 weeks... but everybody is different. The safest painkiller is paracetamol. Your Doctor and any medical book will also confirm this.

Good luck and congratulations!

They wouldn't be menstrual cramps since you wouldn't be menstruating, but you can have some cramps and pain in your uterine area when pregnant. Since you're having some light brown discharge, it sounds like it may be implantation. It could also be round ligament stretching, which will happen throughout pregnancy as your uterus grows.

When I was pregnant I didn't have cramps but I would get really bad indigestion a lot. If you're worried about it, I would go to a doctor and ask him/her.
