ok ur cpu has nothing to do with it...like the guy above me he is righgt its ur ram...i bet u have 256mb of ram, which i also have for my laptop...and that is very bad!!! u need a 512 at least or even better 1 gig. the reason behind it is that ur compuetr can only handle so much graphics detail at a time, so it will be overloaded and start to lag. and the guy above me is wrong its not that cheap.... its probably $120 to upgrade, and have it assembled...but if u know how to install it or a family member can.. them the memory itself costs like $60-$80... so....
it also depends on wat game ur playin like my comp lags for runescape, untill it gets warmed up.. u may be tryin t play world of worcraft or rakion, which are more graphically demanding..
the best ways are to either upgrade or buy a totoally new comp..... if u want a new comp, plz dont get vista, it sucks.. i hope i helped..srry about the huge amount of info..also if u have dsl or cable then ur fine...i presume ur graphics card is ok.. too

Possibilities (Not sure myself...)

1. You may have a lot of files on your computer. Clean them up.

2. You have a bad connection to the intertnet. Get a router or buy same high-quality internet.

3. You have a outdated computer. Get a new one or beg to death to whomever is your guardian to get you a new computer. (If you are going to get a computer for online gaming, I suggest Alienware or a handmade one. How to get a handmade own, even I do not know.)

4. You need to upgrade your computer. Do so. I don't know how to do it.

Several things could cause slow speeds:

Low RAM in the computer
Low resources (free memory) in the computer
Graphics card (and graphics card memory)
Internet connection speed
Type of internet connection (sometimes cable internet can be slow if a lot of people in your neighborhood are on the net, if you have DSL the further from the switching station you are the slower the connection)
Whether anything on your computer is set to "Automatic Update"-if it's downloading updates to Windows or antivirus, it can cause things to slow down.

Sounds complicated-but that's the way things are nowadays.

Your system lacks the necessary RAM to run at an acceptable speed. Look into upgrading your RAM modules, and your computer should run a little smoother. Ram can be purchased relatively inespensively. I would suggest NEWEGG.com
