How do i create tournament brackets?

Question

I am writing a story (slowly, but surely) that contains a tournament. How do I create brackets that have exactly the number of rounds, matches and contestants that i need? Also, I will need to take these brackets and fill them in all the way to the championship match. Is there some way I can do this?

it appears that I chose I bad catergory for this question. I don't want basketball brackets, though if I can't find anything else these will have to do. Rather, the tournament is a magical dueling tournament, not the Final Four.
