I am having a copy/print job done and the sales person who I made agreement with on the price for the entire job had ran me off a sample print or copy, which was not that good , so I asked if he could make it more clear and detailed looking in the graphics, so he ran another one and showed it to me and it looked very good. so I said fine, do the whole job and I made full payment.
Well, I called to check on it and the "manager of the copy center" told me that she could not complete the job for that price since the guy who had made agreement on the price was "new" and had run half of my job on the color copy machine (even though it is black ink it makes it appear nicer) and that she would have to do the rest on the other machine. Well, the other machine makes the copy/print not look nearly as good . But she says that she cannot do it and has to do it the other way, By the way this place is a large chain called Office Max. What would you do ? Is this fair?

THE COPY MANAGER IS OFFERING TO FINISH THE JOB ON THE LESS QUALITY BLACK AND WHITE MACHINE INSTEAD AND TOLD ME THAT USING THE COLOR ONE ( EVEN THOUGH IT IS BLACK INK) WOULD END UP "COSTING HER MONEY"?

SHOULD I BE A JERK ABOUT IT AND POSSIBLE CAUSE PROBLEMS OR BE NICE ?

I don't think you have to be a jerk about it, but I don't think you should have to pay for something that you didn't agree to. It's not your fault that the department manager didn't fully train the associate. She should eat the costs and chalk it up as an important lesson. I think you can still be nice and talk to the store manager about it. You agreed to the second copy at "x" price. You don't work there and you don't know the difference in one being run on a color copier vs. a B&W, you just know that you were willing to pay for what was shown and you did. To change it now is a bait and switch. Go above her head, be calm and professional. If they don't absorb the new employee's honest mistake, file a report with the BBB.

I would say be a polite jerk! Tell her you specifically refused the quality on the lesser printer, and the money paid was on the basis of the better printer being used. The job was agreed and paid for in full. If she feels she can't deliver for the price paid, then she should refund you your money, and you should take your business elsewhere. It's not your problem her employee messed up. If she wants to lose the business, that's her choice.

If you don't have the original price on a document in black and white, a signed agreement you dint have a chance in hell, if you do they must honor the original price. Compare the job in color at other print shops if the price is comparable then fight if it is more, accept that the new employee made a mistake and pay the correct fee.
