I have a 1971 Impala that has a 350 4 bbl from a 1974 El camino. I want to rebuild it to a 383 stroker with new high flow heads. I will use all new parts except for the block. Is there any places or websites where I can get the kits and all other necessary parts for this build? Should I stick with factory heads or upgrade? What horsepower rating should I expect to get? This is a project car going through restoration and not a daily driver. Money and time really aren't major issues, just want it done right. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to edelbrock.com, they've done all the work and you can build you motor to there specks and match what they got. Good parts sites are, jeggs.com and summitracing.com.

Check out Ebay for kits. Also Jeg's and Summit racing - they have the heads as well.

What HP are you looking for - High 300's/low 400's? HP = $$ - you can build a high power 383 for mega bucks or a good runner for a bargain. Speed is money - how fast do you want to go?
