Does wealth make you happy...The answer is yes and no.

There is a saying that I once heard..."Money isn't everything but it sure sucks being broke". That saying answers your question perfectly.

If you don't have enough money to put food on the table, to afford transportation to get to work, to have a place to live in a safe area, or to provide basic medical care, weatlh will buy a heck of a lot of happiness. The best steak you'll ever have is when you splurge and buy one when you can't afford it (or in my case, the best beer I ever had was the Milwaukee's Best we drank on college when me and some friends had to scrape and come up with $6 to get a buzz on the weekend). When you don't have money to afford the basics or you are just barely getting by, a little extra wealth will provide a lot of happiness.

Once you have money, wealth isn't a big deal. My father once told me that the more money you make, the more that you spend. When I got out of college and made $40K a year, I was the richest person on the planet. Fast forward 10 years and now I am approaching 6 figures, I am as poor as I ever was. When you get more money, all of a sudden, you can afford a nice car or a bigger house is suddenly within your grasp. After you buy the 2500 square foot house and a conversion van, the bills pile up real quick. The extra money really doesn't get you anywhere.

Once you can afford the basics, the rest is just icing on the cake. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much icing is on the cake, as long as there is some. As a matter of fact, if you have too much icing, it can ruin the whole thing.

Once you have the basics, look elsewhere for happiness. Money will only buy a little.

Depend how you make use of wealth. Many people can't let go of their status and wealth when they got it, they want more, thus have to work harder for it. They have no time for their own personal things. Are they happy? Of course not, they will live poor, but pass away rich. We don't need to much wealth, just enough to do what you like, and only willing to let go will make one happy.

Wealth can make some people Happy....and there is no happiness without wealth and the biggest wealth is health.....physical and mental.

But the real happiness can be attained by loosing all your desires. Desires are the reason for all sadness. With a desireless mind you will be really happy. But mind is like a monkey.............................

It's actually been found that happiness is directly proportionate to the amount of happiness that other people have. There was a quiz that some magazine did that asked people which choice they would go with.
A) If they won $50,000, and their neighbor got $25,000, or
B) If they got $100,000, and their neighbor got $200,000. Surprisingly, the majority of people chose the first example, even though the second choice was twice the amount. So- even though the world is more rich and has access to more knowledge than ever before, it would seem that we're stuck.
*sigh*.... :(
