sorry, there's nothing on either Amazon or the official publisher's website. So the answer to your question is likely either "only the author knows right now" or "even the author doesn't know yet..." I imagine most of the energy of both author and marketers has been on getting the movie made and marketed; now that that's over, the next book can be gotten on with.

They haven't announced it yet, but the second book just came out in paperback. Typically that means that the third will be announced soon. They try to put paperbacks within months of the next volume so they can keep the publicity up.

i'm not really sure. i read somewhere on the internet that it is coming out in fall 2007, and i believe this is correct. however, and i'm not sure if this came from a reliable source or not, there have been rumors that a third book called empire is coming out on march 20th. i believe the third book is going to be call empire, but whether or not the release date is fall 2007 or march 20th i'm still waiting to know
