This was a HUGE problem for me in making my decision to divorce. As a Christian, in the Bible it says 'God hates Divorce', and Jesus specifically says we should not divorce.
BUT . . . does God want us to stay married to a person that is abusive in some way, in my case, verbal abuse? I tried for over 2 years to work things out with my ex-wife, and prayed, and talked with family and my pastor.
BUT . . . ultimately I had to decide that my ex-wife was not going to change, and that I would have to deal with her verbal attacks the rest of my life.
I still struggle with my decision, and what God thinks of it, but I also believe that God will forgive me . . . and so far my life is better in some ways, but in some ways it still isn't too.
It is the HUGE question I think we all face when making this life-changing decision, have I done everything that I can? Is there any way that we will be able to work this out?
In my case, my ex-wife refused to go to counseling or even to admit that we had a problem in our relationship!?!? Finally, I had to go with my heart. . . .

As a Christian, I don't believe in divorce. You should be completely sure of the person you're marrying. I think that in today's society people are too quick to dump their partner to move on to another person. If your relationship isn't what it used to be and there is dissatisfaction, it's time to seek counseling of some kind. If you are physically, mentally, or sexually being abused by your partner, that's another story. You need to get out of the relationship for your own preservation.

Divorce is only allowed in Christian when there is adultery invovled. Even then if either of partner wishes to forgive the guilty partner and continue with the marriage then that is better.
Apart from these circumstance there is no other reason why it is allowed.

I don't believe in divorce but I went through one. My ex decided she wanted something extra so she cheated.Whats the point of getting married if two people aren't going to stick it out and work together.

they think what God says, He hates divorce.
Jesus is the Groom, His church is His bride, God says marraige is like this union. People have come very very far from God, but His word will stand, long after we are all dead. The husband is the head of the wife, whether you all like it or not. God doesn't take votes.

They think it is sinful unless the reason behind divorce is lying, cheating or abuse, but remarrying is wrong as one is only supposed to have one sex partner for their entire life.

Marriage is a lifetime commitment, but God doesn't call us to be abused or tormented.
Divorce happens.
