If my kid was 14 and drinking she would be in some serious trouble! She'd be grounded for one thing and I'd make her go to an AA meeting. My friend's mom did this when she caught her drinking when she was 14 and it worked. She was so embarrassed being 14 and in an AA meeting. And she was really bored while she was there. She didnt drink again until she was 19 (in Canada) because she didnt want to take the chance of having her parents find out and making her go to another meeting.
I plan to tell my daughter about the dangers of drinking when shes old enough to understand. I know she probly will drink before shes legal but the thing I'm going to stress the most is to not drive when shes been drinking and to not get into a car with somebody whos been drinking. I'd be mad if she was drinking but I'd much rather her call me if shes drunk and needs a ride. If she was to call me, I'd lay off the punishment because at least she was smart enough to call.
I'm really adamant about not drinking and driving because I lost my good friend 2 years ago to a drunk driving accident. He wasnt drinking, he was actually driving to a job interview. He was at a stop and some drunk guy rear ended him going 65 miles an hour. My friend died in the hospital 2 days later. It hit me hard, especially because his wake was on my 21st birthday. That's one birthday I'll never forget.

I am a parent. And if I caught my underaged child drinking, I would NOT go easy on them. If they were aprehended by the police, I'd let them spend the night in the drunk tank. And pick them up at my leisure. If I found them, I would enroll them in a dry-out centre immediately, pack their bags, put them in the car and take a little road trip. No questions, no answers.
I would let them know that any trust I had has now evaporated at the gate of the dry-out centre. If they want to join the family again, they finish the program and make some life changes.

I used to do it at that age and I gained nothing from it, except headaches, throwing up and generally feeling lousy and tired the next day. I nearly killed myself at 14 not knowing the dangers of Alcohol poisioning, drinking a whole bottle of rum in 5 minutes and chasing it with a can of Campbells cream of mushroom soup throwing up everything I ate for 3 days afterwards. At the time, I was so drunk I blacked out and was riding my bike and friends who saw me, told me that I rode through red lights, cars were screeching on their brakes to avoid me. It's a miracle I woke up in my bed ( God protected me that night). The only funny part about it was is when I awoke, I was under the covers fully clothed with my shoes on ( a kodak moment), grease all over me, and bruised and cut from flipping over the bike trying to get my chain back on (which is the last thing I remember). My parents had to come home early from their get away stress-free weekend. Let's just say I wasn't the most popular person in the household. After this experience, I couldn't get any liquor near my face without my gag reflex acting up.
If your talking about a 14 or 15 yr old girl drinking I would be worried about them being drugged, raped or pregnant or hurting themselves or having to go to court. The world is a whacky place these days.
If I was a cop it would depend on the teen as to what I would do. I would explain the dangers of it, tell them it is against the law and either warn them, take them home to their parents or fine them or a combination. It's important for parents to make sure their kids understand what can happen, and encourage them to make the right choices. Hope this helped.

Its not that big of an offense. Grounded for sure, supervision is a must but beyond that its not that bad. Their getting to be at the age where they want to start experimenting. My little sister Drank two pints of Mickeys(malt liquor) one new years eve and she got such a bad hang over that she decided to never drink again (also 15) so just let them know its not ok and give them stricter rules.

if i was a cop i would haul your drunk @$$ into town lock you up wait until 2-3 in the morning then call your parents wake them up and tell them that you were arrested for being drunk in public. and if i was the parent i would tell the cop to keep you until the next school day and then drive you to school and escort you to your locker and first class, come and pick you up after school and drive you back to the jail make you do your homework then as the parent i would come get you take you home and beat the living day lights out of you until you could no longer sit on you @$$!!! i think that i would make a great cop and a parent.

Cops give you a MIP and go on they figure that your just one of the many kids they'll catch that day and so they drop you off at home. But parents are the ones to be scared of (at least for me) I know mine would flip. I would lose their respect as well as being grounded for a long time.

kids do stupid stuff thats why they are kids. all u can do is tell them right from wrong and hope they listen. but all kids do it. i have a 16yr old and a 14yr old. when it comes to drinking i tell them not to. but comeon they are teenagers... i have told mine if they drink (cause i was a teen i know they will) NOT to get in a car... both have cell phones and i have told them to call me no matter the time of day or night i will pick them up no questions asked... better to drag my *** out of bed by them then a cop to bang on door to tell me my baby is dead... be smart dont drink and drive

It's not worth it. Wait until you're 21. Drinking just makes you act like an idiot, and then get sick tomorrow.
