Many A New Day -- Oklahoma!
I Could Have Danced All Night -- My Fair Lady
Goodnight My Someone (Marian's part) -- The Music Man

Avoid songs from musicals like Wicked, Rent, and West Side Story, as these songs I hear sung one too many times. You want them to remember your audition, and they most likely have had it with songs especially from Wicked. Even with the songs I suggested are still semi popular, but it will add a bit of originality than singing something like "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.

I don't recommend singing a song from Annie (as Annie) because that is a little young. You want to sing something more your age if you are trying out for a part your age (I'm guessing someone like Liesl).

You're best bet is something that will show your range, since a good portion of the songs in "The Sound of Music" are broad reaching.

Perhaps something by Whitney Houston.......and no, I don't mean the cliche songs. Find something lesser known of hers, but one that you are comfortable range-wise with, and belt it out for the tryouts.

I'm sure you will do wonderfully!!

There is a song, not sure of the title, something like "I enjoy being a girl." The vocal teacher at school should know which one I am speaking of.

How about Lucky from Britney Spears. The cutting irony in that would be fantastic.
