using your brain keeps it active and you are not susceptible to diseases like Alzheimer's. also your memory is sharp instead of fading by 35 years old

I don't see memorizing many things to be a good use of brain power. I think its better to think creatively.

When people do things like that, it becomes more like a hobby.

And hobbies, for better or worse tend to be a waste of time to some degree.

But if it makes them happy, i say good luck and go for 25000 places.
