but how about middle english? it shows the importance of being chivalry or courtly love which is respect for women and the religion..and this period the english language become broaden and the grammar were simplified.so the reader can trully understand about literature

If we are talking about the classics, for me personally, I tend to like the late Victorian era. Charles Dickens, George Eliot, Robert Browning, Alfred, Lord Tennyson; to name but a few, are all master writers with a grasp of the language of the times and the knowledge that words, well crafted into sentences and paragraphs, have a power to influence their readers.
