If you really want to know more about the media I suggest you watch a few documentaries, read a few good books (I will list at the end) and then once you have a good idea how things work, go and watch all major channels and see them in action. You will notice specific techniques that they have been used, you will understand the working on the media. The media is run by corporations who have particular interest. The people who are anchors do not have any control over what is said. Writers are not free to really write, if you don't believe me go back a few years ago before the war in Iraq. How many stories did you read or hear about the condemnation of the war? Or questions about the no bid contracts? Or questions about 9/11 such as, how did building 7 do down or now? Why are so many firemen dying and why are all the dogs already dead from the toxic materials the EPA said were OK to breath. Why is the Mayor Gulliani looked at as a hero, yet the firemen despise him? Why do all the media tell the same story? Why does it seem so scripted and passed out among each other? The only real free media in America is the alternative media regardless of what your beliefs are. Left, right......

Well, having worked as a news anchor and reporter for close to six years, everyone thinks you're biased if you talk about anything at all. People have their little bugaboos and perceptions already stuck in their heads, and nothing will change that. These are usually the same people who don't get that news isn't about supporting their opinions on how things ought to be. I frankly don't think people who take The Daily Show seriously ought to be commenting on real news because it's obvious they can't tell the difference between hilarious jokes ABOUT news and actual newscasts. I like them both, but I know they aren't the same. Jon Stewart is high-freaking-larious, but he's not a newsperson. That takes a good, solid education in journalism, along with experience.

Alternative media helps so many people though, so I have no issue whatsoever with that. The only problem with most alternative media is that it lacks a standard format. That can make it a bit confusing and convoluted. It would be taken seriously if it became a bit more polished, I believe. Sorry, but there are standards to meet.

My thoughts on the media, well, the vast majority of them, are that they are opportunistic whores. When the 'war' started, I don't believe I ever saw so many 'war cheerleaders' as those sent to Iraq and urging the US soldiers to shoot more women and children, while defending their homes. They made it look like a 'death-party' every minute, until people started asking for the truth about 2 years later, they they switched sides (except for a couple of networks) and are going after Bush, for HIS BS.

The major networks NBC, CBS, ABC are so afraid of offending anyone that they won't investigate anything.
FOX is the official Propaganda Network and only reports what the Regime says is the truth.
The Comedy Network is probably the best source of news.
