Dance gives you a positive body image by getting you in shape, toning your body, and increasing your flexibility. After awhile, you are impressed with what you can do that you didn't know you could do before. It also increases your gracefulness.

when i see that i dance well and that i move beautifully it makes me feel good. it is more of a self-esteem thing. i feel pumped up and ready to show the world! it doesn't matter if my hair is frizzy or i am not in a great mood. i go into dance class, or turn on some music at home, and forget everything. i can just let go...

its pretty paradoxical really. for many, all the hours of time in front of the huge mirrors and of frustration of trying to master difficult moves gets many dancers very self-conscious.
however, with a positive attitude, dance gives one a sense of control over the body, along with accomplishment, finesse, strength, and grace.

dancing strengthens you but in a long flowing muscle tones keeps you limber,its really good for you and good cardio,makes you very happy how many people do you see dancing that don't have a smile on there face. i knoe this web site is for kids but it says everything boosts confidence,sharpens the mind ,its just a great work out .i cant do it anylonger and im paying for it now lol cant hardly walk
