It doesn't matter whether you're a male or female I think both sexes have experieced that at some point in their life. However, I think men frequent it more than women do, simply because many women hold against it or are to ashamed to do it or like you, don't know. I used to do it when I didn't have a boyfriend, it's not the same as having sex (obviously) but you still get a little turned on! I think that it's good to explore your body that way you learn to know what you want and like. Getting in touch with your body can also be beneficial that's when you learn to distinguish wether somethings normal or not, for example you might start noticing things that weren't there before.
