im goin to go from a 00 to a 1/2 " but im goin to do it with a spiral gauger so i can gradually get there not just try and get it all in one shot but take baby steps is that ok ?

Well, when gauging your ears you NEVER want to try and dramatically increase the size of the jewelry "all in one shot", as this can lead to tearing of the skin if it can't accomodate the larger jewelry, which most of the time it can't right away. Using a taper is probably your best bet, and don't rush it, as skin, while it has elastic properties, can and will break if stressed to much.

I heard great things about a sprial gauger, but have no experience with it. I was super paranoid about stretching and always went to a professional to go up a size.
