I had told myself at one point that I would finish a pokemon game no matter what. So, I'm trying to get all the pokemon onto one game, but I cannot seem to get the leaf green pokemon to transfer to the Emerald game. What games are compatible in trading? Like you can trade on red/blue and ruby/sapphire..but I'm not sure about the others. Please Help!

There are two areas that you can trade within:
Area 1:
Ruby
Sapphire
Emerald
FireRed
LeafGreen
Pearl
Diamond
Group 2:
Red
Blue
Silver
Gold
Crystal

You can't trade from Ruby/Sapphire to Red/Blue or vice versa.
You can trade from Emerald to Ruby/Sapphire, but not from Fire Red/Leaf Green to Emerald.

you can trade leaf green with other games but first you have to complete a couple things. first you need to beat the leauge. then you go to on of the sevii islands and theres a big pokemon center with a big machine in it. a guy tells you he needs a ruby and a saphire to make it work. go find the gems and bring them to him. now you can trade between versions. note: you must beat the leauge in emrald too.
