Are you asking what the teacher should do if someone is knocked unconscious in PE class? Any time a person loses consciousness due to a head injury, they need medical evaluation. Even if the student regains consciousness immediately and doesn't seem injured, he or she should be taken to the office and the parent called to take the child to the doctor. If the student doesn't regain consciousness, call 9-1-1. ANY TIME a person is knocked unconscious, they need to be seen by a doctor. There can be injuries to the brain that are not immediately apparent. The teacher and the school administration are running a huge and foolish risk if they do not see to it that the child is taken in for medical evaluation. And no, no teacher is qualified to assess the risk of brain injury. They may have some training in determining whether or not a student is likely to have suffered a concussion, but that does not negate the need for seeing that anyone knocked unconscious, even briefly, gets prompt professional medical attention.

In Australia I'm pretty sure all teachers (at least in Primary school) have to complete, and regularly refresh, a first aid certificate.

In reality, one would call for help, and the school nurse would make the initial medical care/decisions.

P.E. teachers are not training medical assistants.
