How big do black convicts get?

I've seen the males up to about 6" body length, but this isn't what you'd always find. These were raised in an outdoor setting in the south.

I've had them get as big as 4" in a home tank. Males will be bigger than females.

just a little bigger than the white convicts. ive seen em on tv the gotta be 7 foot . ive seen em look bout 500 pounds. them mexican convicts the dont get so big

I agree with copperhead, 3-4" is typical in a tank.
